Remember that every patient´s healing process is different and the time and way tissues may respond to injury may vary. Most patients resume normal activities in 1-3 weeks. |

Dr. Nieto routinely uses a postoperative therapy to improve blood circulation in legs. Dr. Nieto will recommend adequate position and early deambulation, in order to prevent venous thromboembolism. Exercise should be done gradually. |

Drainage tubes will be removed usually after 3-8 days following surgery. |

Sutures are removed within the first two weeks following the surgery. |

Avoid taking any medication that has not been prescribed by your doctor, especially aspirin (acetyl salicylic acid) or aspirin-like products (Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin or Aleve). These medicines have anticoagulant adverse effects and may increase the risk of bleeding or scarring complications. |

You should expect some bruising and swelling as a natural part of the surgery. This condition will fade within days after surgery. |

Avoid any strenuous activity for 2 weeks after surgery. |
